JB the Windsor Bull

This project is a story of restoration & art.

The fiberglass Hereford bull perched atop a Bi-Lo Grocery store for decades since the 1960's until he was removed and eventually came into possession of private horse farm in Windsor, SC. I had been looking for a bull of my own to paint since my Quinientos project and JB was looking for an artist.

JB: The main elements and details  (by the way, JB stands for "Just Bull")

His right side contains the icon in the Town of Windsor, a red Southern X484 caboose where it is located on the old rail bed next to Charleston Highway. Next see the "Cafe" which is said to be a 1940's Sears Home recently restored through 2023 to be a small cafe. Representational cotton field which may be seen locally. JB's hip brand is the State of South Carolina with a Palmetto tree & crescent moon.

His left side shows Rebecca Gutierrez driving her carriage horse, Oscar, in Windsor where there is a serious Combined Driving Event community & the Windsor Trace CDE takes place. A beautiful, rare piebald White Tailed Deer represents local wildlife amongst the pines & muscadines. Three of only around 400 rare heritage breed Marsh Tacky horses are shown to bring awareness to the Official State Horse of SC. Travel around to behind please see the Edisto River which the public may enjoy in Windsor at Aiken State Park.

Ready to play I Spy? Small, but still there! Red Fox, Great Horned Owl, Summer Tanager (male), Eastern Bluebird, Red-Tailed Hawk, Eastern Towhee, Great White Heron and Red-cockaded Woodpecker.
